1869 Antique Dutch Large Oil Painting on Canvas by Alexander Matthew Seascape

Up for sale is a phenomenal antique Dutch school original large oil painting on canvas depicting a seascape - several sailboats on the high seas close to the coast and a boat with fishermen or sailors.

Signed in a lower-right corner Alexander Matthe and dated 1869.

Condition: Stable craquelure due to age. Some minor overpainted spots, paint losses, and scratches.

Nicely framed. The frame was repainted gold.
