This is an original oil painting on canvas depicting Sailing Ships on the High Seas in sunrise by Charles Stepule (1911-2006). 
He was born in Wallingford, Connecticut in 1911. He studied art at the Connecticut League of Art Students, the New York Art Students League, and in Europe at various studios. Stepule served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He lived primarily in Hartford, Connecticut, teaching at the East Hartford Art League; he also spent time in Rockport, Massachusetts, where he established the Charles T. Stepule Gallery on Bearskin Neck. Stepule passed away in Gloucester, Massachusetts in 2006. 
Framed measuring 31" x 27" & painting measures 24" x 20" . Presented in a nice wood frame. The frame has one stain on a liner. Painting is in good condition. Please see photos, photos are the part of the description.
